Horsehead in Ha was created by michael_murphy

Here is the Horsehead nebula from last night. I took 27 300s Ha subs. The quality is not great as it just clears the chimney of the house and my neighbour had lit a fire.

Michael.

Nice one Michael - real smoky feel to it :-)
Only kidding!
There is actually great depth there and one thing that I used to neglect in my early images of this - you actually can clearly see the 'neck' of the horsehead. So you have done well....against the odds!

Hi Michael,

I love this image. You've done a super job of capturing the horse head nebula. Amazing stuff!

Clear skies,

Darren.

Thanks for the comments,

Now that I've had a while to look at it I've noticed that there is more detail in it than I had thought at first.
I'll do some more processing during the week.

Michael.

It's a very nice job Michael, especially with a fire going nextdoor!

Thats a lovely capture Michael, there's a real dusty feeling to it.
