I've got the new telescope up and running the last few nights and this is one of the images.
It's the Iris Nebula in Cepheus,

What is the equipment you are using?
Was the image taken from a dark sky site?

I'm using an Omegon quadruplet apo refractor 100mmx580mm,on a Skywatcher EQ6 mount and the same Canon DSLR that I used with the LX200,subs were 2mins unguided and I had no bad ones.
The site where I am is just outside a small village according to the map it's Bortle 3-4.
I'll post a picture of the scope,
Kevin.

Both these images are top notch!
You also have a galaxy in your M 13 globular star cluster image.
It's called NGC 6207.
Super job

Very well done on producing those brilliant images - M13 looks stunning!
Wishing you many a clear night, and I'm looking forward to seeing what else you produce with your new refractor.

It's been a while since I've posted any images, due to the lack of clear skies and the fact I was setting up my guiding and dithering in APT and PHD.I also spent a lot of time using PHD to drift align my scope.
Having accomplished all those tasks I was ready to image something but it's only the last couple of nights that I really managed to do so.
My target was M31 again, this time using the refractor,as I had previously imaged it with the stock zoom lens that came with the camera.
Clear Skies

What a spectacular image you have given us of the 3 galaxies M 31, M 32, M110!
I greatly admire the blue hues surrounding M 31, the foreground stars and the orange stars too.
Welcome back and thank you!
Clear skies from Aubrey.

It's been a while since I posted any images mainly due to the weather.
However I managed to get a new image of M42 with the refractor for the first time a few nights ago,the wider field meant I also got the Running Man Nebula in the frame as well.
It was quite late at night so I only managed to capture twelve two minute subs but overall it came out ok.
I also got an image of M33 in Triangulum,it was slightly misty but it came out resonably ok.
clear skies.

Very nice images - well done.
I never realised that refractors produced such nice diffraction spikes - I always thought the ones in your image were caused by the spider arms on reflectors - every day is a school day as they say.
Keep your images coming!
Clear skies,

Those diffraction spikes are actually put there with an add-on for photoshop called Starspikes.
I know they're not everyone's cup of tea but I've always liked spikes I think they give more depth and perspective to images.
Clear skies,
Kevin.

I second your opinion that adding them make a nice image.
Great stuff, and more clear skies to you Kevin.

I also revisited M45 The Pleiades with the refractor last time was with the stock camera lens.

Last year I tried to photograph M78 with little success,I tried again with the refractor a few days ago and the result was much better.

I got some shots of NGC1499 The California Nebula tonight, using a new filter designed for one shot colour cameras and DSLRs.
It's the Ooptolong L-Extreme Dual H-Alpha/Oxygen III Narrowband filter and I find it excellent for light pollution while enhancing those rich reds that are produced by hydrogen emissions.
Clear skies,
Kevin.

I recently purchased the Omegon veTec 571 Color camera and here are my first images with it.
I decided to go for the familiar to compare with my previous efforts with the DSLR and I have to say I am very pleased with the results.
Clear skies,
Kevin.
