Piggyback camera rail system was created by michaeloconnell
I now find myself in a position where I have access to an SLR camera. I'm thinking of piggybacking this onto my LX90 and learning how to do astrophotography the traditional way. Meade have a tiltable adaptor which site on the back of the scope onto which you screw in the camera. Problem with this is that you most definetly need a balance kit, which is bloody expensive
I was wondering if there was some other way around this problem?
Can you gat some sort of a rail system to attach on top of the scope which you can slide the camera along until it's roughly balanced. Also prevents the front end of the scope appearing in all your shots.
Thanks,
Michael

Sounds like this rail system would be as expensive as any counter weight system, after all you're just substituting a weight with a camera.
You still need arail, fixtures and fittings etc..
If you knew someone who is good with a welder and has some steel drill bits ans some spare wood, you could probabily slap something together ???
