SN in M51 was created by albertw

From Terry:

1. Barry Pickup alerted me to this image / report of a bright supernova in M51, on the Meade.de website. I haven't seen or heard any other reports of it, but I've no reason to believe it's not genuine.

I think this was discovered in June by a German amateur Wolfgang Kloehr. Here's a link to a page dedicated to SN-M51:

I contacted Terry this morning realizing that Barry had picked up an old discovery. here follows the message to Terry.

Terry,

Its genuine supernova, but 7 months out of date. The supernova in M 51 or NGC 5194 was discovered on 27 June 2005, the image on Meades site is dated 1 July 2005. The supernova was mag. 14. There was publicity in the main astronomy magazines during the summer period about this unusual event.
