The Great Orion Nebula...Trap Area was created by woodwizard

Finally got the masking part down.
Meade LX200GPS/UHTC 14' @ F6.3 Canon 350D Modified
Guided with Orion ED 80
Converted, aligned, combined and masked Images Plus
Images registered with Registar
20 - 15 sec subs @ ISO 1600
5 - 60 sec subs @ ISO 1600
21 - 120 sec subs @ ISO 1600

Not much field of view with the LX200GPS 14'.. Even at F/6.3

Comparison of the Hubble image of same area to mine.... I captured alot of the same details. :o I would say not to bad and a few million dollars cheaper. :lol:

Wow... a 14inch SCT with 60 miles of atmosphere versus a 2.1 meter space telescope 230 miles up in a vaccuum... That's a nice image! (yours, of course!)

I'd love to see what you can do with the Pillars of Creation - it's a nice small field as well. If you took of the reducer, that might give you even better framing.

Sounds like a challenge to me... :D
