Despite the almost full moon I tried this out. The IDAS LPS-P1 seems to do a good job. Pity my guiding was off (had to guide Dec by hand); notice the almost ghost images of the stars. Must work on that.

4x180 sec + 1x240
10x10sec for Trapezium.

All processing in Photoshop + the red channel upped a tiny bit to make it prettier :wink:

Finally starting to get the hang of this Sac 10.

Now it's off to see if I can get the M81/82 image processed.

Still a very nice image Trevor. The nebulosity is fab, even though it doesn't appear as bright as I would have thought necessary in order to capture it. Very little hint, if any, in the trailing you mentioned. Is the IDAS LPS-P1 the camera you use?

Ok this is my SECOND Holy CRAP in about 2 minutes! Trevor that is FANTASTIC! I'm tellin ya the astrophotography bug is spreading rapidly! Everyone is being bitten! I had forgotten that you had a sac10! Youve a very nice gallery of astro images now! 8)

Seanie, the IDAS LPS-P1 is a Hutech light pollution filter. From what I understand it does a similar job to UHC but is optimised for imaging, in that it keeps as realistic a colour balance as possible. I know a couple of others on the board use these so they would know more about it. I could only find out information about the P2 and P3 versions but I'm assuming this is similar.

Great value in 1.25" version but ferociously expensive in bigger sizes.

One thing, is it my imagination or is the nebula mirror imaged, it seems to be pointing the wrong way to me.
You did a good job balancing the centre of the nebula and the surroundings.

Sorry Dave, just saw your question.
I believe it's the exact same filter, just an earlier version (P1 rather than P2 - don't know the difference). For the Canon it's the filter that goes between the bayonet and the lens in some kind of custom holder.
