Obtained through spectrographic detection of amorphous silica around the young (12 million years old) star.
They estimate collision occured within past few thousand years.
Might interest.

A 12 milion year old star, practically newborn.
I suppose the star has a planetary system in formation, so collisions are not unexpected, it s a cool catch to get all the same !
