Nova Vul 2007 #2 was created by JohnONeill
Hi,

There is a new nova in Vulpecula. Its designated as V459 Vul. I estimated it as magnitude 7.8 last night. It lies just north of the arrow of Sagitta.
See www.aavso.org for details.

Its turned cloudy this evening.

I would welcome any estimates.

Hi John Sorry for not posting this earlier, but it was discovered on Christmas night, just when I thought I had some time off

Last night, I observed and imaged this nova at 1819UT. I estimated it's magnitude at 7.6 with my 8" SCT at x50. The image is here, you are very welcome to use it should you wish...

Pity alright, but this one is already fading, latest now is that it is a t magnitude 8, and since it is a 'classical' nova, it will not last too long.

Just you wait until a naked eye supernova in the summer milkyway....here's hopin'...........

I just had a look at this nova in freezing conditions at 1838UT, January 3rd. I estimate it at magnitude 8.3, so it seems to be fading alright...
