EE Cep eclipse was created by Coldfieldboundary
hi,

EE Cep is an eclipsing binary. There are many of them, but this one has a long period of 5.5 years!
It is time again he will become fainter, with an estimated minimum on January 12th 2009. The eclipse can take more than a month.
It normally shines at magnitude 10.7. It will be eclipsed until a magnitude of 12.2 is reached.

(Also OW GEM is a well known long period eclipsing variable. Every 3.5 year, but a short eclipse time around 10 days. A month ago it was his turn, but the bad weather made it difficult to follow.)

Yesterday I did my first attempt on this EE Cep star, and my estimate was 11.3. So it seems it has just started.

:) Maybe we can follow EE Cep from now on, put your estimated magnitudes here! Cepheus stands comfortable high in the sky.

I used the following easy finder chart for him:
