I am on MPML but its linked to my old yahoo address which was spam central so I tended to just delete nearly everything. I find MPML a bit of a pain since you have to check it too often and sift the wheat from the chaff. Why don't they just but a latest news link/update on the MPC site?

Congrats and very well done Dave. Many of my friends have been asking me what this discovery is and how was it done. I have just seen what I consider to be the best coverage and explantion so far. It is by Mark Keenan of the Sunday Times (it is in the 'Home' supplement -- P12/13) with some great pictures. I suppose we are all at different levels in Astronomy and something like this would inspire you to push on to another level.
I can't wait for the next golf game so I can say to the lads 'there you go .... that's how it is done'.

Hi Vagelis and Kyriaki,
Yes it certainly does feel good. Particularly with the amount of energy that went into getting to this point.
Thanks for the wishes and please give my very best to Kyriaki.

Thanks Dave, actually the media really bit this one big time. It was everywhere at the time.
RTE 6 One news. www.rte.ie/news/av/2010/1006/6news.html (Look at 34 mins into the programme)
It made the front page of the Indo (see here www.science.ie/science-news/supernova.html ) and was in pretty much every major newspaper that day (6th Oct)
I was on the Daily show with Daithí Ó Sé and Clair Byrne and pretty much every major radio station too.
