Galway Sky Atlas was created by Janek
Hi guys,

I am making my own printable sky atlas. For start it goes down to 10 magnitudes and has chart layout from Uranometria. It is very early alpha version. When finished, it should go down to 13 magnitudes (as Triatlas).

It is completely vector based, uses transparency, layouts and some other advanced stuff.

Here is single sheet (Lyra)

Other 40 sheets in SVG (incomplete)

And here is software which generates those charts (Scala, GPL3).

Your work looks very impressive Janek, and software that generates high quality printable maps would certainly be very useful.

Could you tell us a little more about the concept and how you are implementing it?

I am making skycharting program, similar to Cartes de Ciel or Starry Night. This atlas is first step, to test chart generator.
