Can anyone tell me if 56Mb is very big for a photo..(cause thats wat it is).

can i reduce the size somehow?... it is 30 stacked images and it seems to be the total size of all of them... i thought even 2 or 3 Mb was big!!

A picture can be any size Kevin! I think what you need to do is use one of the more compressive formats like jpeg or gif. High formats are bmp and tiff. If you have Photoshop, bring your image into it, resize it (any large image could well exceed 2000 pixels - no point. 800 to 1000 pixels wide is good for computer screens), and save as a jpeg. When you go to save it as a jpeg, you might have the data size indicator according to the quality of jpeg indicated. Go forf around the 9 or 10 mark for very good quality but decent data size.

Kevin you really need Photoshop if you want to work with digital images.

On the size issue.
A golden rule, always always keep the original shot.
Then make another backup of the original on a CD.

Then you can chop and change it away without fear of loosing it.

Another thing,
When you are processing the image alway work in full size,
i.e. don't re-size it or change the format first.
Only do that after you are finished with it.

When you are done click the 'Save As' in photoshop and save it as
a different format (jpeg is the most common for web) this should be a great deal smaller is size than a bitmap.)

I remember saying t you in Whirlpool about using Photoshop to enhance
some of the shots you have.

if you really want to resize a photo, and you dont have photoshop. irfanview freeware will do it. just make sure you save an original somewhere.
