Open Nights????? was created by moonmonkey
Is anyone aware of any open nights coming up in the belfast/antrim area. I'm a bit of a astronomy virgin but would like to go along to an open night and get aquainted with some experienced members.

Hi There,

You're in luck! Tonight the Irish Astronomical Association will be at Castle Espie near Comber. If the weather plays ball we'll be outside observing, otherwise we'll be indoors with the Stardome and exhibitions of Telescopes, Meteorites and other space related paraphenalia, plus of course we'll have experienced amateur astronomers on hand to answer all your questions.

Also, tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday, we'll be down at The Marble Arch Geopark in Co Fermanagh where we're running an astronomical event in conjunction with Armagh Planetarium. There'll be talks, exhibitions and astronomers both professional and amateur there to answer questions, and again, if the weather's good we'll be observing - solar during the day, stars after sundown!
