A few of us here go observing at the Sugarloaf regularly.
I was at an observing session in Trooperstown a few years back which was quite good.
Do you know of any other sites around Newtownmountkennedy?

There is a get together on the 11th August at the Sugarloaf to view the Perseids, perhaps you can get along to that.
If you join www.meetup.com you will be sent emails detailing observing events that are being organised.
