Moon and Porrima - 9/6/22 was created by flt158
Hello everyone.

I have just been checking the Moon's position for tonight Thursday 9th June.
It's a little over 6 degrees east of Gamma Virginis (Porrima).
Porrima's separation has been increasing over recent years.
Right now its separation is 3.1". The PA is 356 degrees.
Its magnitudes are: A = 3.5. B = 3.5 also.
Have fun!
I plan to.

Clear skies from Aubrey.

I'm sorry to say I had a torrid time looking for Porrima on Thursday night.
So I'm knocking this post on the head.

As Darren will also confess many clouds kept on mushrooming until after midnight.
So I ended up splitting Epsilon 1, 2 Lyrae.
As ever, Epsilon 1 was more difficult to split.
Here are the figures from www.stelledoppie.it

Epsilon 1 Lyrae (STF 2382). Magnitudes: A = 5.15. B = 6.1. Sep = <2.29. PA = 343.8 degrees.
Epsilon 2 Lyrae (STF 2383), Magnitudes: A = 5.25. B = 5.38. Sep = 2.4. PA = 74 degrees.

Eventually I did separate the Double-double at 112x. It was also extremely nice at 140x and 167x.

Clear skies from Aubrey.
