I thinl I can beat that! :D I got nearly 10GB.

I think you'd need to get out more, and maybe not with the telescope! Sure, with the 10gigs you got, I don't think you'll be getting out at all, you'll be excited to sift through all that eclipse material. But, I know where you're coming from - it was like that for some of us that were in Turkey for the opposite eclipse. :)

Great reading on the eclipse. Didn't notice any change in colour down here because of a reasonably thick haze but it did just about manage to stay clear to see totality and then in rolled the clouds. Nice to see such great photos.

I'm just back from the wilderness of West Clare and after reading the
last few pages I wish there had a net connection in the holiday home!
:D
I was outside for the better part of 5 hours....but nicley toasty in my
ski gear!
Still all the same I think my feet are still numb!

Excellent images by everyone.
I wonder did anyone have it clear for the whole night?

Just watched the eclipse up to totality and then called it quits, but I consider myself blessed with the weather. It reminds me of Turkey in a different way. For those who remember, a few hours after the solar eclipse in Turkey, it clouded over for the rest of the week.
After living in the limerick area which is not know for its clear skies, I consider myself lucky.

I had a great nights observing. Also called it quits after maximum eclipse but I did keep taking a look out every 20 mins or so and what was very noticable was that the haze had really started to pick up so I think I was lucky to just make it to mid eclipse before things got too bad!

Hi all

Checking my notes from last night I see that at 22.40 that the region of the moon north of Plato and Mare Frigoris had definitely taken on a blue-green hue, and it was a nice contrast to the copper colour in the southern region.

It was a great eclipse and I would like to congratulate everyone on their excellent photographs.

Paul

Yes it definitely looked blue or steely grey. Here's a shot from 22:33:17 that might show it. 56 Leonis in the West.
