Shuttle Launch on Wed Night was created by Neill
Hi all,

I see there is a shuttle launch on Wednesday evening, scheduled for 23:36 BST. Anyone know whether we will be able to catch any of its passes on its way to the ISS from here in Ireland?

I don't know Neil. Having a look on Heavens Above, it doesn't have any forward notes regarding the flight like it does with previous ones. However, looking at the ISS pass information, I'd say give it 2 days after launch and, like the previous shuttle flight, you'll gradually see the shuttle play catch-up with the ISS (as that is its destination). So, I guess keep an eye on Heavens Above ( www.heavens-above.com ) according to your location for imminent shuttle passes after Wednesday.

Hi Neill,
Like Seanie says, Heavens Above will show you all the details once
the Shuttle is launched.
Judging by the pass details for the ISS from Wednesday onwards,
It looks like we will have at least one pass directly overhead every night for the week.
I wouldn't wait two days though, it all depends on the exact time of the launch v's the position of the ISS.
Best to check Heavens Above a few hours after she's up.

Maybe we can get some of the lads with bigger scopes to try and catch another image?

It's not the size of your equipment that counts,
it's what you do with it!
