Hi,

A reminder that the moon occults the northern part of the Pleiades (including Electra) early next morning (morning of Aug 8th). See www.irishastrosoc.org for chart.

As can be seen, Mars is near-by. A great opportunity as the moon will not be too bright!

Hi all,

Actually the occultation happened in the early of this morning - evening of the 6th/morning of the 7th. Did anyone see anything, any pics?

The moon was bright enough to poke through the clouds, but most of the Pleiades weren't so there wasn't much to see from Louth.

Hi,

Neill, thanks for the correction. Next one up for us is on the night of Saturday/Sunday 27/28 October 2007 at about 22:30 UT (I hope I got this right!).

However, this time the moon will be very bright, just after full.
