Comet 8P/Tuttle Passes through M33. was created by DaveGrennan
Guys on THIS SUNDAY night (30th December) Comet 8P/Tuttle passes right through the Pinwheel galaxy, M33. An ideal opportunity for visual or photographic observations. Mid transit is at local midnight and the Moon doesn't rise until 00:32UT so you can observe this in a dark sky.

I've written an article with more detail and charts for this on the AI website. Full article here;

This is a very rare event not to be missed!!

Dave et al,

Does anyone know the apparent motion of Comet Tuttle so that we can proceed with proper sub-exposures?

Anthony,

Over the next 4 days the average apparent motion is 18.27"/Min. Thats gonna seriously limit sub exposure times, unless of course you guide on the comet nucleus.
