Partial eclipse right now was created by nectarine
At work this morning with eclipse glasses and baader solar film on my 10 X 50's.
Very lucky with the weather as the sun's been visible most of the morning so everyone in my factory has been outside and had a look - impromptu solar eclipse meeting!
Everyone's really enjoying the experience and asking lots of questions so it's been a great morning so far. Back off outside now as it won't be long before tis over.

Yeah. I got just a couple of views too, as per my posts I put accidently under Eclipse 2009:blush:

I had my Thousand Oaks filter & simply used it naked eye. Got ~3min at 09:30 & again at 10:10.

I mentioned also that at max. phase at 10:10, the expected 26% coverage looked more like only 10%!

Hi Bernie and Paul,

Our group in work saw it at Christchurch for 10 mins at the start. A few breaks at 10, nice one at 10.10.
Then clouds. Did drawing.

Heres to 2009!

Hi John,

My views wew as the sun peaked out from behind the Ulster Bank 'pyramids' on the Dublin quays.

Did you reckon it looked like 26% @ max. phase John?

Nothing visible from Tullamore, dodged big puddles all the way into work this morning... : angry:

I built a simple (mount card + masking tape) pin-hole camera. mounted it on my old photo tripod (1999 taught me that holding 2 pieces of card was tirsome as everyone else viewed sun). set it up at work on the 3rd floor of the IFSC in Dublin.
It was clear and grand until 9:20 from then on plenty of cloud but we got good glimpses until @10:20, after that we were pretty clouded out.
Most people at work were impressed by the ~7mm solr disk with bite missing. Some clearly epected a major whole field of view image.
If nothing else it was a good partial diversion on this Friday morning.

all the best and clear sky's
Steve
