After receiving some suggestions regarding the monthly Astrophotography Competition (both on the boards and via PM), I would like to see what views you have. When it says 'Monthly', should that mean that only images taken during that month should be accepted (with an appropriately achievable target set)? Or, perhaps a more open timeframe e.g. 3 months. Or maybe you think it is fine leaving it open to whenever.

Thoughts and comments please. I will leave this poll open for August.

In my humble opinion it is fine the way it is.

It's fine as it is. You can always change it for a specific month if need be (eg photos of a particular lunar eclipse etc.)

Yep fine as it is. If you restrict it to photos taken that month and we have a month of weather like we just had you might get no entries.

Seanie et al,

I voted and my choice reflects my earlier statement were any recent work (ex. three months) is acceptable. Otherwise, the one with the "deepest" amount of existing work will be privy to submissions and irrespective of everyone else's problems with the weather.

With a reasonable window, everyone is effectively working under similar conditions and constraints.

Just my two (euro)cents.
