Congratulations Mike what a great prize also. The image is very good; focusing is spot on, as is the colour balance with great detail in the image. Well done.

Thanks very much guys. Much appreciated :)

Especially appreciate the comments about the colours as it was quite hard to get the colour calibration correct. I used a cheapo light pollution filter (not designed for imaging) which gives a bad colour cast to the final image.

Looking forward to making use of the prize when the time comes.

Speaking of which, Seanie hasn't specified how large a party the pass and B&B covers, but I'll settle for 2 people (the rest can pay their own way). ;) Can you confirm please Seanie?

Edit: Heh, apologies for cheekiness :) Will take it to PMs for details.

Nice one Mike.

It's thought provoking.

I particularly like the presence of the very red star bottom centre and the galaxy image bottom-left centre. Colour balancing can be difficult - but this looks okay for me.

There appears to be a lot of hydrogen-alpha (I believe evidence of new stars) around the periphery of M13.

A splendid capture - and well done.
