I just saw a pretty bright fireball from my kitchen window in Cork city.
I was just looking out at Jupiter and it appeared almost directly south heading straight down from high (maybe 45deg) all the way to the horizon. If anything landed it would be out at sea. Really nice one, changed colour several times before it vanished. I'm not good at guessing magnitudes but if I were to take a wild guess I'd say -4 to -5 or so.
Anyone else spot it?
Derek

Spotted this also Derek as was travelling near Coachford.
Big bright multicoloured travelling fairly rapidly and followed by large flash as disappeared South from view.
Great sight!
John.
