What Noctilucent clouds look like

I guess since a lot of people won't have seen NLC's before it might be worth putting up some of the better images (imo) from the past couple of years to show you what to look out for.

Jeez - not more noctilucent clouds. I'm really fed up of you guys always posting these images - they're clouds. Duh. About as interesting as a blooming animated asteroid :roll:

They might be clouds Dave, but they do look Cool - like a ghostly glow hanging above the northern horizon. They can really catch you by surprise.

Shane - not having read the 6 pgaes worth of IFAS ruminations on 'bows' its not surprising that you've missed the irony of my post

FWIW - I think the images below, especially Dave L's are just stunning. I think I may have seen NLC's last weekend and if that's what they were, I agree - certainly caught me by surprise.
