Beautiful NLC display this morning

Hi Folks

There was a beautiful display of NLCs this morning bout 3:45. It was like a spider had wove its web across the sky. Also they seemed to stretch v high up - maybe 50 - 60 degrees has anyone seen them that high before. Note the jpg compressed the detail a bit too much but you get the general idea. Nikon8800 8 sec at f/6.6.

I can even see them! Despite the best efforts of jpeg compression.

Are you more likley to see these in the morning or evening btw?

Not sure about the general case but I am much more likely to see them in the evening .... I don't do mornings

However, in the general case you raise an interesting question, anyone have any ideas?

Rushing out now but will post a better one. Al haven't a clue, was actually reading the other thread and just decided to go out and look...
