Nice display of Noctilucent Cloud last night from Rush, best at about 22.30 UT to 23.00 UT, fading later.

I saw them from Naas at around the same time. First time I ever saw them.

We are seeing alot of these displays at the moment, last night was lovely but was over very quickly, other nights displays earlier in the month lasted longer, would this be due to the sun sinking lower below the horizon? here is a pic i snapped last night

Nice picture and yes, we can only see NLCs when the sun is near (but below) the horizon. As we get further and further from mid summer's night the amount of time that the sun it at the right height below the horison is gettign less and less so we will be seeing less of the NLCs unfortunately.
