Spotted these clouds this evening. Look like mini-tornados.

Anyone know what they actually are??

Yeah, just notice them this evening. As far as I can recall I have never witnessed such morphology of cloud before, most unusual sight that happened to coincide with a wonderful sunset to give a really stunning visual effect.
Do you know what height approximately these clouds were Eamonn, what prevailing conditions are necessary for this effect to happen? Nice photo there Michael by the way.

Spotted them on my way into the radio station around 9:30pm. From my location, they were perpendicular to me, and they did indeed look like the arse was falling out of them, like in your photo Mike. They were pretty cool to see.
