I did a quick google search and found that the society actually exists.!!

They have a cloud of the month and cloud gallery
The top of the front page is of a noc. cloud
so it aint all bad.Has the 360+ cloudy days a year we get in this country driven me to an irrational hatred of all water vapor clouds, you decide !

I'll bet most of the members live near the arizona desert or central australia and constantly curse the clear blue skies. Perhaps a cloud and astronomy appreciation society would be a good compromise;)

Anthony, I can only imagine what your reaction would be like if you had our weather.
We could bring Anto over for a few months but then it may be interpreted as assisted suicide which is currently illegal.

Considering ALL of the problems with the Irish weather, it makes the accomplishments by the two Daves even more impressive!
I honestly wonder how much more productive they would be if they had our weather in Ireland or lived here in Greece?!

I keep imagining a Garry Larson style cartoon with
a bunch of angry looking nerds standing outside a convention center.
They crowd around their bus (which says 'Cloud Appreciation Society' on the side)
pointing at it's slashed tyres.
There are one or two guys with binoculars hiding behind a nearby tree holding their
hands up to their mouths sniggering.
The tag line reads;
''I bet it was those dang astronomers who meet in room 207 again!''
I'm too lazy right now to draw it...
but you get the picture.
