NLC's from space was created by Frank Ryan
What a cool perspective!
Indeed he even says
'not half as nice as the view was out the window'

Keep an eye out for the flashes of lightning
in the dark lower atmosphere region under the NLC's.

Also the 'bright star' he talks of methinks was Venus maybe?

I mentioned 'gravity waves' (atmospheric) before and
how much like them these NLC's look every now and again...
The same principles for the formation of both may be connected?

Very cool, although I wouldnt involve gravity waves in their formation, more like they resemble some sort of surface waves between 2 different density layers.
I dont see how gravity waves (ripples in space time) could be involved.

oh right, so "gravity waves" can mean 2 completely different things, never heard of this referance before.
