NCL Display June 3rd+11th was created by R Newman
Just saw the first NLC display of the season, and quite nice it was too, 01.00 to 03.00 BST, type 3 brightness. Took some photos near Charlestown and at Lough Talt.

Beautiful! The images at the flat calm lake, with the cloudless sky, are particularly lovely. Summer is not a great time for astronomy but your images remind me that there are lots of compensations for the lack of dark skies. Mike.

Well done Ronan. The sky really was impressive at dusk last night. I checked for the possible presence of NLC's around midnight but there was no sign from my limited elevation. I am glad someone got photos!

Good images Ronan, looks like we're a little early for the big displays yet.

Lovely images again Ronan. There is plenty of time left for a big display. This season is already looking better than last season. Keep up the good work.

Looking good Ron. I spotted what looked like a brewing display lasy Monday night but I didn't stay up late enough to see if it came to be. Early this morning c. 03:50hrs the growing twilight didn't seem to have let any NLC's come to be but the sky was definitiely, as you said on a previous night, very photogenic. I got up after midday today to then be greeted by rain...

Yeah, I was out last night too. No NLCs unfortunately but it was lovely to see some stars again! I almost forgot they were up there with the weather we have had! The pain of rain is back tonight again!
