Suggestion for website links-only forum was created by Seanie_Morris
Bart et all,
I have been looking through these forums looking for a few sites mentioned before regarding (almost live) satellite images of Earth - but I can't find it/them.

I was then wondering if a forum/thread could be setup to list all websites in specific categories (like one mother of a sticky) with all the websites quoted on this site? A moderator of this type of forum would simply acknowledge all informative websites posted (but NOT to articles and pictures etc etc), and simply constantly edit the post or sticky with the sub-sections of sites, or a forum with threads of different categories of websites... This way, it would keep a nice tidy reference base for mentioned sites, and not have it as a bunch of posts with a website/link within it.

Thoughts?

We deffinitely need something for links. I have a system in mind similar to the Fire Section and have had for some time but I'm just not getting the free time to dedicate to coding ATM.

I'll have a think about the best thing to do as a stop-gap.

Bart.

What about simply creating a new forum in the Admin section? If it helps, I volunteer as a mod for such a forum, and can help start trawling for the best of the websites mentioned on these boards...

OK, I've created a special board that only trusted moderators can post in for puttin up Links.

I have assigned Seanie M as the head of the group that has access to post to that board so Seanie can add one or two other trusted parties to help him out if he wants.

Enjoy!

I really dont see the merit in this idea. a page for links is grand but a group is overkill, and a pain in the ass to search. I'd be better just searching the fourms for links.

Perhaps Seanie should instead maintain a simple html page of links that are posted or mention and Bart could upload this into the Resources section. Whats wrong with a good old fashioned links page?

Cheers,

Didn't we already have a page like this?...:?

Perhaps if this was just updated and a link to it on the IFAS homepage to make it easier to find?...
