Hi Guys,
Delighted to read about the establishment of the Sligo Astronomy Group, best of luck with it. Here in Cork Astronomy Club we are planning our 2016 Spring Outing (late May) to Sligo, perhaps we could meet up during our visit or even pick your brains in advance with regard to 'astronomical' things to see and do in the Sligo region.
Regards
Declan

Hi Derek, draft plans so far are to travel to Sligo on Friday, May 13, visiting Kingsland observatory enroute. Staying in the Great Southern Sligo, Saturday - visit Carrowmore, Creevykeel, Lissadel etc. Sunday, Lough Gill, Parkes Castle, Markree Castle then onwards to Cork. This is all very fluid at the moment so any suggestions would be greatfully acccepted. We plan to travel by coach as a group (around 30 persons) with our 'significant others' and it is really a social / tourist outing rather than a purely oberving session but you never know!!.
