Website Stability was created by CarlightExpress
I've noticed recently that the IFAS website is extremely unstable, a lot of the time I get "Bad Gateway" messages, then a few minutes later the site works again, I get this in work (through US proxy and not through US Proxy), at home and on my mobile so it's not provider specific.
Is there a known issue?

I have moved the site to a new setup this morning to bring more stability.
If you are still seeing issues, please tell me but I think the instability issues should be gone
Thanks
Darragh

I used to have nginx reverse proxying to a backend apache instance.
Now the frontend nginx handles all the requests and uses php-fpm for all the php stuff

With the changes you made Darragh, seems that email notification in now turned back on again which is brilliant for me. I rarely load up the website - I just check my email for new topic notifications. Can we please please please keep this going?
Love the new look too by the way. Your (unpaid) work is very much appreciated

Since the start of the year I have been finding the forum especially awkward to use on my iPad. Is it possible reset the view of the forum as it was previously in 2013?Sorry, was missing around with some configuration, have reset it back to the original, so it should be ok now

Thanks for modifying the forum to make it adjust to the width of the screen. It is now much more user friendly, and the response times are great. Well done, much appreciated.
Mike
Didn't think this was fixed yet, it's not for me, it's probably taking up 50% of my browser width

Different in my case, exceeding my browser width by maybe 25%

Anyway, as I said earlier, the 'fix' is temporary, but please do report back with any layout bugs you spot. Once I think I have the CSS cleaned up and working, I'll post back here for you all to Refresh (hit the F5 key) your browser windows.

Looks like Internet Explorer version 8 and below has an issue with the screen width. The page width extends past the right hand border by a fixed % irrespective of the screen resolution. If warranted you could look at loading a custom stylesheet for IE Versions 8 and below, using User agent detection or IE Conditional comments.
See.. msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms537509(v=vs.85).aspx

The Current Versions of IE, FireFox & Chrome all look fine on Windows OS.
On iphone5/Safari the site is optimised for mobile screen width and also looks fine.
Keep up the good work

No improvment on iPad. Still using 20% more than necessary.
