Founded in 1998 Galway Astronomy Club has a membership of over 50 people from throughout Counnaught. We meet monthly (usually on the first Monday of the month) at 8pm in the Westwood House Hotel. We usually invite a speaker from NUI Galway or elsewhere. Yearly we organise a Day trip to places like Birr, Armagh Planetarium or Blackrock Castle. And every January we hold Ireland's only winter astro gathering, the Galway Astronomy Festival.

Meetings take place on the 1st Tuesday of the month in Clonamore House Hotel (map marker) at 8pm. Promoting astronomy & allied subjects since 1986. Hosts of the annual COSMOS Star Party since 1992.
