That wreck on Inisheer is very cool (the lads here will know of it from the opening credits on the Father Ted TV show).
It's nicely placed for a startrails shot (stern East / bow West) though it nearly got broken apart during one of the big storms last year.
The bow is bent now so it'll look different from the photos you've probably seen. Still an awesome foreground though!
You'll be spoiled for choice regarding shooting locations there, Aran tends to have a good microclimate but you're biggest enemy will be clouds!

Getting there my advice would be, if you fly into Dublin, drive to Rossaveel (Ros a' Mhíl) takes about 4hrs and use Aran Island Ferries.
(Just make sure that hostel accomodation deal you found includes Inisheer (Inis Oírr) and not only just for the other 2 islands).
There is a nice hostel on the island and plenty of other cheap accomodation anyway.
If you fly into Shannon (where I live), It's 50 min to Doolin and you can grab a ferry there for around €10 each way which takes 30min.
My place is 2min from the airport so goes without saying you're welcome to a bed if you need to.

The wreck involving MV Plassy is what led me to discover Inisheer and, by extension, all of the other goodies on the island such as O'Brien's Castle, the lighhouse etc.

No question I am very much interested in a trip specifically for Inisheer as a starting point and it is now a simple question of waiting for favourable weather during a favourable period of the month in relation to the moon.

As for Seanie's demotion, it is more of your promotion given that you are in Galway and I am looking to make it to Inisheere.
