I think my highlight was Nova Sagitarii 2015 - 12,000 LY away yet visible to the naked eye, awesome.

Other high points: of course the TLE, how rare to get three hours of uninterrupted clear skies for an event like this. Even then there were quite strong winds to contend with so it wasn't absolutely perfect!

38 Perseids on August 12/13

Venus-Jupiter conjunction Jun 30, quite good skies all that week actually.

The St Patrick's Day Aurora, a memorable display.

And not forgetting a first sighting of elusive Messier 7 on June 15, hovering tantalisingly above the southern horizon. It must be a beautiful sight from more favoured latitudes.

Happy new year all,

Finbarr.

Good day to you, Fermidox. I was patiently waiting for your list -and an excellent one is too. Very different to the rest of us. Many congratulations on seeking out that Nova. It does remind my of my only nova -Nova Delphini 2013.
At the time of your Aurora, I was up in Denmark at that time. Messier 7 I observed back in 2001 in Livingstone, Zambia.

Thank you, Finbarr.

Clear skies for 2016

Aubrey.
