Brian has kindly agreed to giving a talk in Dunsink for the IAS later this year. All are welcome to attend, I'm sure that Brian has peaked everyones interest here, and we may even get some sneak previews on initial data from Herschel at Brian's talk. Will post details after the summer.

Big day ahead for us on Sunday - the cryocover comes off. If it doesn't, we've a very large paper weight out there at L2.....

Cryocover opened without a hitch on Sunday, and the PACS instrument had the honour of 'first light'. The complete first data products are in - and the first image from Herschel (a 100 micron image of M51) will be released on Friday. Even *we* are not allowed to see it prior to release (only the PACS team can), but I'm very reliably informed it's stunning. Not bad for a first attempt!

We'll post it on the Herschel blog as soon as we have it/can release it. SPIRE is up next!
