Did you know that IFAS represents the following clubs, currently as active, affiliated members, here in Ireland:
Astro 2 (NUI Maynooth)
Cork Astronomy Society (CAC)
Galway Astronomy Society (GAC)
Irish Astronomical Association (IAA)
Irish Astronomy Society (IAS)
Kerry Astronomy Society (KAC)
Midlands Astronomy Club (MAC)
Shannonside Astronomy Society (SAC)
South Kerry Astronomy Society (SKAS)
St Cronan's Star Gazers (StCSG)
Northern Ireland Amateur Astronomy Society (NIAAS, formerly East Antrim Astronomy Society, EAAS)
NUI Galway AstroSoc
Past Clubs that have been members also include:
Bausch & Lombe Astronomy Society (BLAS)
DCU AstroSoc
Deise Astronomy Society (DAS)
Kildare Astronomy Society (KAS, conjoined with TAS)
Slaneyside Astronomy Society (SAS)
South Dublin Astronomy Society (SDAS)
Tullamore Astronomical Society (TAS, conjoined with KAS to form MAC)
It has also helped promote, influence, contribute to, and liaise with other clubs, like:
Birr Astronomy Club (now defunct)
Sligo Dark Skies
Cavan Star Walkers
Irish Light Pollution Awareness Campaign
Meath Astronomy Club
and more.
Not bad going! All possible with the input, experiences and volunteers over the past 10 years - and that's just on this website! Well done to everyone.
Seanie.

their is a good number of clubs around the country, which is great,
I wonder what happened to Sligo dark skies, anyone know?
also I presume the cavan starwalkers is the Breffni star walkers, that looked promising for a while but ther doesn't seem to be anything happening with them,

I am a member of Breffini Star Walkers. Unfortunately it is no longer active for the past 2 years.
I never heard of Sligo dark skies until now. I would join there club if I knew where they are?
There are no clubs that cater for the Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon and Mayo region.
This is a big junk of the country. I would join a club if it is in this region of the country.
