I think that a solution like this would not be such a bitter pill to swallow ??
Or how about turn it into a astronomy/science museum ??

By a small margin did Daramona House in Mullingar escape development. We've all seen how corrupt the powers that be who get involved in developments like this. I couldn't see Bertie, or any private developer helping Dunsink like that.

I, myself, have little faith in how the system works. I don't think I can contribute a constructive post here I'm afraid!

Hopefully Dunsink wont be left on the Governments "degredation" programme but I dont hold out much hope as I work as a contractor to a lot of those people and the common factors I have found are
A. Being a member of the local FF Cumann
B. Regarding OUR heritage as a hindrance to their profit margins
and C a propencity to sack anyone who tries to show tem the ramifications of their actions .
You or me litter and get hammered they can destroy OUR heritage and get a pat on the back .
But one glimmer of hope !!!
Cork Corpo with Cork Institute of Technology are refurbishing Blackrock Castle as an observatory -both optical & radio - and will have a "public friendly " section and hopefully a planetarium too!!
Will keep you posted
Eugene
