Only 3 days drive up to Cairns for the Total Eclipse of Nov 2012 then! A good city Brisbane, spent a lot of time there myself!
I have done this road trip in 2 days before but its a long haul. I reckon all the flights into Cairns international will be booked out for the eclipse. Brisbane is the nearest major city with an international airport.
