Streaming Jupiter live was created by martinus
I'm currently streaming Jupiter live. This is the second time I've run this little experiment and it works quite well. I set it up so friends could get an appreciation of what one can see with a telescope and stream it all via a Google+ hangout.

Tracking isn't perfect so I'll have to tweak it every half hour or so:

Intes MK67 on a Meade LXD-75 with a modified SPC900 doing the imaging.

Comments/suggestions/harsh-words all welcome. ;)

its an interesting idea, Ive had a look and you can see its bands, although it looks a little faint, Im assuming its cos you're using a 6 inch scope ?...

Thanks Dave. It is a 6 inch scope and being a mak-cas the secondary mirror obstruction is relatively large. The image is nice and sharp though with minimal chromatic aberration. I found getting a good balance of brightness and colour saturation is tricky.

Youtube seems to add quite a lot of artefact to the live stream, I uploaded this for comparison:

Not silly - the exposure isn't long enough to see them; here's a stack of 150 to 200 frames from a week ago showing Europa:

If I bump the exposure up Jupiter turns into a featureless lightbulb.

funnily enough, I own a mk67 myself, its a fine scope, one I severely underutilise tbh.
sharpness is its middle name.
