Outreach with Cavan Scouts - Interested?

Hi All,

Is there anyone in the Cavan area that would like to do some Astronomy Outreach with Cavan Scouts in June? I was contacted by one of their leaders, but it is out of the area for us in MAC to cover when you think of costs (and we don't charge) - some of our guys would be looking at a 2+ hour drive from Carlow to Cavan for such an event!

Hi There,

This is still open i.e. no one has come forward! The proposed date any of the nights on the June bank holiday weekend. It is quite a drive for me (almost 1.5 hours), which makes it out of reach for most of the MAC committee.

From experience with Scouts and Girl Guides, it's a very easy thing to do. Most of the kids do have a great interest in basic Astronomy and stargazing, most have telescopes. Also, there is an Astronomy Badge to be earned too!
