dmcdona wrote: An excellent day at Dunsink with a really great turnout and top quality presentations. There were even some members of Public dropped by plus a few RTE folks who were broadcasting from another Dunsink building.

The only downside was a lack of the sun showing itself - but that didn't dampen spirits at all.

A huge thanks to Michael O'Connell for all hard work involded in organising the event and to Dunsink and DIAS for hosting it in a wonderful facility.

Special thanks to Denise and FĂona for keeping everyone refreshed!

Dave

I second that.

I did manage to show the Sun in my PST for a few minutes whilst sheltering from the wind.

Thanks to all involved.

Michael.

Great day, very informative and it was super to have a wander around the observatory, last time I seen that scope was in the late 80s before it was overhauled.

Well done to all who organised it :rock:

All the speakers who put their time and effort into a great series of talks;
Trinity College Dublin, Astrophysics Research Group;

Deirdre Kelleghan for her display and talk re Action Sun;
My wife Denise and Dave Mc's wife FĂona for their hard work with the refreshments;
Val Dunne and Robin Moore for all their help;
Deirdre Kelleghan, Terry Moseley and John Flannery for notifying people of the event on their e-mail bulletins;
And to everyone who made the event possible.
