Almost 11pm and been viewing comet Neat, easy to find with Bonoculars and 8" Dob located aprox 1/2 way between Saturn and Venus
No doubt many will have viewed this comet for the first time in Ireland tonight, others who might have seen it before now were blessed with clear skies.
Here is a nice link for forecasting if night in Ireland is going to be clear

YES! YES! YES!.....FINALLY, CLEAR SKIES! :D :D :D :D

Have just come in from happy 'cos I've finally had a chance to see NEAT!
Beautiful view with M44 in the same field of vision in my binos.
If you haven't seen it yet, get your kit and go take a peep!
Very surprised how easily a novice like me found it........ but I did!

P.S. I think Charles meant half way between Jupiter and Saturn.

From my vantage point anyway, the comet was just on the verge of naked eye visability, just a faint smudge. Wouldn't say I could see the tail.... however.... there are street lights nearby. From a darker location, the tail might be visible.

I must confess to being quite disappointed in Comet NEAT. It has been far from a 'great' comet. I remember looking at Hale-Bopp from off Baggot Street through the lights of Dublin city centre and still being able to see the tails clearly and distinctly. So far I have only been able to detect NEAT with binoculars. It did look good earlier so close to the Beehive, but stillnot what I have been looking forward to.
