Big Sunspot Group and some Proms was created by TrevorDurity
Hey all,

Took the PST out today after seeing some images on UKAI. There's a massive sunspot group (AR10960) on the eastern limb. Well worth a look if you can.

Some nice proms on the other side as well.

Cheers,

Trev

Fine images Trev!
Unfortunately, it's overcast and a mist is now starting up here in kildare. I hear the west coast is very sunny at the mo.

Yep, very sunny here at the moment. I think you've got the weather we had yesterday. This front is moving very very slowly.

Good news is that it should be clear there tomorrow :)

Hi Matthew,

To expose for the proms the disc burns out white so I just pulled the image into PS Elements and did a magic wand on the disc and then feathered it to 3 pixels and deleted it - making sure the background was set to black.

Then I inverted the selection & did some curves to bring the colour back in as it's captured in black and white.

Cheers,

Trev
