By the way, does anyone know how to pronounce Wirtanen?

Is the W pronounced like Whoa or V for victory?

Aubrey.

Just caught a glimpse of the comet between breaks in the clouds with my 8x40s and 127 Skymax mak. It is easily seen close to the Plieades. Should be easy to photograph even with moon out.

Caught a lucky break after the storms and here it is passing 4 degrees S of the Pleiades, 14 hours before closest approach to Earth at 7 million miles. I found it not far off M31 in brightness so estimated mag 3.5. It's pronounced WERE-tuh-nun Aubrey, he was American -

Finbarr.

Good man, Finbarr.

You are indeed correct.

WERE-tun-nun is spot on.
Thank you very much.

Well done on seeing the comet once again.

And what a stunning image of it and M45 Pleiades!

Aubrey.

Hi all, I managed to photograph this comet at 6am this morning, I had a 10 minute chance to shoot before the clouds rolled back in, visually it was a green fuzzy object in my 15x70mm binos, certainly not visible naked eye, but disappointing to me anyway, I would say it was a brighter version of the pinwheel M33 galaxy. Anyway, here it is...Keith..
