Yeah Dave I saw that too. Luckily enough I was out with my 350D's and managed to get a nice shot. I think it's the same cocker spaniel sun dog

Ah Lighten Up Conor! I'm sure they are appreciative of your efforts to tell the rest of us of your observations. Its great to read them now and again!

I think that (on my own personal level), they just keep seeing sun dogs and associated phenomenae from you, and are just having a joke.

A joke based on 2 parts, if I may:

1) Sun dog, halo, arc, or even a rainbow, is hard for some of us see, as it is firstly hard to even see the sun in these isles, particularly yesterday and today!

2) You and Martin have shown so many atmospheric phenomenae here, that I suppose, well, if you've seen one sun dog, you will, in fact, see them all!

As a comparable argument, we all see meteors every night, but we don't post back here each day about them...

That's a nice dog in the sun Johnno. But not the same one I'm afraid. So between the pair of us, I guess we saw two dogs in the sun. The same sun though. Wonder if they were 24 deg apart though?
