Is there any way we can merge these posts into Martins first 'slither' thread? I do not see the need to have a second thread on a similar slither!

By the way Martin, I think you meant to use the word 'sliver'.

Martin, that's a really thin moon :D nice capture ! It's difficult getting up early to get a look, nevermind planning a shot. Real peaceful though.

Here's one I got on September last with the moon and mercury together only 2 days from new :

Anyone else interested in giving this a go, and can anyone suggest an observing location with a good north-westerly aspect? If we see it (and don't get your hopes up to high!), I'm sure we'd be setting some sort of Irish record! Smile
