What an evening first treated to a fantastic sunset in the west then a remarkable Moon rise and looking west again Venus and lower in the sky my first every observation of Mercury.

Yea its lovely and clear up here in south dublin. Have my small scope out. Too lazy to get the big guy out. Its so nice to see a planet so close to the moon!

The sunset here in Shannon was class!
The big moon rising over Bunratty Castle looked
awsome and is going to get my attention
tomorrow night (fingers x'd for clear weather)

I went home kicking my heals tonight thinking I'd get a good
shot at Saturn again but then I had a Homer moment
Doh! the Moon!
Ah well....

The moon rising this evening was class, it just hung on the horison and it had the usual big globe near the horizon effect to it.

The sunset had an early summer evening feel to it alright! Can't wait for the real ones...
