My report? Cloud. Lots of it. Almost 4 weeks of observing weather slashed at the last hurdle! I did manage to see the Moon and Venus between hazy cloud breaks, but no Lyrid meteors I'm afraid.

Saw one, accidentally! Was just bringing out the bin and looked up and one just flew overhead just at that moment.

Then it was back inside to finish writing my thesis! Poo!

It's worse than that, it's physics Jim!

I went out the back at about 2230, saw a break in the clouds to the north- east. I stood there for about 15 minutes and was lucky enough to see about 6 meteors, including 2 coming from opposite directions at the same time(maybe one was a satellite, don't know).
Anyway, I enjoyed the brief show even without binoculars!

I saw 3 Lyrids between 10pm and 3.30am on Friday morning, not exactly near the peak, but its all I got given the returned cloud.
